Remember Chrome? No? well go read our review if you want to refresh your memory.

In this sequel you’re armed with the latest military technology in combat, designed with Special Forces in mind, the SpecForce field agents equip themselves with SPA4 Power Armour, the main element of a SpecForce field agent's operational equipment, and vital to mission success. Be it assassination, espionage, infiltration or sabotage, the armour’s systems enhance the efficiency of tactical operations conducted in enemy territory. Dispatched to the planetary system of Estrella to collect evidence, it quickly becomes clear that a seemingly simple task leads to an intrigue on a much grander scale...

Chrome Specforce has all of Chrome’s good bits and a handful of improvements and tweaks. It has new locations, better HUD, and your bionic technology is now built into your suit (hello, HL2). So now you don’t have to undergo major surgery in order to operate your enhanced Power Shields (shields), Neural Boost (bullet time – Hi, Max Payne), Motive Support (movement accelerator) and Camouflage Layer (semi-transparent camo – Hi, Predator & Halo). More than this, you just switch it on when required, and it lasts long enough to be useful now, as well as being rechargeable like your health, if you’ve collected the power-ups.

The weapons and vehicles have all been remodelled and the sniper scope has lost its irritating glitch (deliberate in Chrome). This game uses the same inventory idea as its predecessor, where you pick up and shuffle stuff about to fit as many items in your pack as possible; well, I got used to it last time, I suppose. I did enjoy Chrome1 and if you did, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed by this, though it doesn’t do quite as much as Far Cry or Half–Life 2, despite some entertaining online multiplayer and LAN maps and modes, including Death Match, Team Death Match, Team Domination, Capture the Flag…
