The Sims is the best-selling game franchise ever, this, the latest in a long line of expansion packs allows you to become a superstar and live the life of the rich and famous (hence the name). As with all the other Sims games you start off by creating a character or family, move them into a custom built house, or bulldoze one lot and create your very own dream house. But as you only get $20,000 to start with this is quite hard. Then you can get your character(s) jobs by either making them look in the newspaper or on the Internet (as long as you've bought them a PC). With Superstar you get an extra showbiz newspaper from which you can find an agent. Once you've got an agent you can go to Studio Town and perform in front of other Sims to earn yourself stars which raise your fame level.
Once your Sims are earning you can, of course get them to buy better items to go in their house. There are 150+ new items such as;
- A Sky Diving Simulator
- Scuba Practise Tank
- Karaoke Stage
- Wall mounted T.V
- Oxygen Bar
- Steam Bath
- A Satellite Dish (view 4 extra channels)
- Spiral Staircase
- Massage Table (you can hire a masseuse).
On your visits to Studio Town you may bump into MEGA Stars like Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne and even dead ones like the lovely but late Marilyn Monroe. They have stars over their heads so you notice them quickly and they live in trailers - because they're on location, much to our amusement, we found that you can even do an Avid Merrion and go and use their celebrity toilets!
The views haven't changed, neither has the interface or the graphics and the music is as annoying as ever. Little has changed, which might be good or bad, but now you can hire a Butler whether you're famous or not, and you might end up as either a model, a singer or even a movie star millionaire.
