My kids are big fans of Buzz! Junior Jungle Party (JJP) so were keen to get their hands on this. Mrs T. and myself are also partial to a bit of post booze Buzz! action with family and friends so were also looking forward to some innocent button mashing.

The first things that strike you about the game are the obvious similarities to Jungle Party. It is essentially exactly the same game engine with revamped graphics and sounds.

The search and replace for and voila! a new game - well almost…

I am not saying it is a bad game, as JJP itself was a great game for kids and adults alike. It is just SO similar that if you already own the former game you may feel a little cheated with this title.

The Robojam includes a varied selection of games from exploding asteroids, rhythm action games, to matching the colour of the buttons with on screen objects. All depicted in lush colourful graphics and slick animation.

Soundwise, this game is not on par with JJP. I think the “wrap your kids up in cotton wool brigade" has been out in force. The narrator in JJP was always teasing the player in last place (and even plugs her voice talents during the credits for extra work). Now we are in a world of “deferred-success” rather than (heaven forbid) “failure”, so the taunts are gone.

A new feature in this game is that CPU-controlled players make up the numbers, so there is always 4 players per game. The CPU player can have their skill level set appropriately. However in my burgeoning household of kids there is rarely a spare buzz controller for long.

So in summary, if you don’t have JJP get this game you won’t regret it. If you already have JJP it is more of the same winning formula, just set in space with robots.
