"Oh no, not another flippin' German route!" I initially thought-but hang on a minute...The Rhein-Ruhr Osten: Wuppertal-Hagen–to give it its full title (or RRO for short)–route is a German DLC pack for Train Sim World 2. It features 42-kilometres of track that runs between Hagen Hbf (Hauptbahnhof translated means main or central station) and Wuppertal-Steinbeck.

Rhein-Ruhr Osten features both the mainline and S-Bahn routes. The massive sprawl of the Hagen Hbf railyard is another major feature. The DB BR 422 EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) and the MRCE BR 185.5 (black livery) both run this route as passenger and freight services respectively.

A BR 185.5 MRCE locomotive pulls a long freight train.

There are 41 Journeys, 5 Scenarios, 169! timetabled S-Bahn services for the BR 422 and 13 freight runs for the BR 185.5 MRCE. As with most other German DLC there are other locomotives layered in, depending on which you own from other routes. These include the BR 143 DB, BR 185.2 DB, BR 187 DB, BR 146.2 and the new DB G6 Diesel Shunter to name but a few, so there's plenty to do on this busy route.

A typically interesting mix of German countryside, industrial areas and businesslike towns, Rhein-Ruhr Osten is one of the older DLC packs for the TSW2 network, but as you'll have gathered from my review it's still giving good value.
